GEORDIE'S ANNUAL BENEFIT PRODUCTION

An Evening of Cocktails, Silent Auction and Tom Stoppard's The Real Inspector Hound
May 19 & 20, 2010

The Real Inspector Hound is a comedic who-dunnit that blurs the lines between the audience and the actors, as Mr. Moon, venerable theatre critic, unwittingly becomes the chief suspect in the drawing-room murder mystery he is meant to review.

NOW SEEKING VOLUNTEERS TO PARTICIPATE ON-STAGE!

We are looking for volunteers to fill the following roles in the play, The Real Inspector Hound:

  • Mr. Moon, theatre critic
  • Mr. Birdboot, theatre critic
  • Mrs. Drudge, housekeeper
  • Simon Gascoyne, handsome stranger
  • Felicity Cunningham, ingĂ©nue
  • Cynthia Muldoon, young widow
  • Major Magnus, war veteran
  • Inspector Hound, detective

This is a unique opportunity for non-theatre professionals to shine onstage in a play professionally designed and produced by the Geordie team! The selected cast for the Benefit Production is typically drawn from leaders in Montreal's business, medical and legal communities who play a role not only onstage but offstage as fundraising ambassadors.

Actors in our fundraising production commit to a few evening rehearsals per week in March, April, and May; and to selling tickets to our two gala evening performances, Wednesday May 19th and Thursday May 20th, 2010.

Please contact us today if you are interested in participating by emailing auditions@geordie.ca or call (514) 845-9810.

ABOUT GEORDIE'S ANNUAL BENEFIT PRODUCTION

Starring prominent members of the Montreal's corporate and legal community, this popular theatre event plays a crucial role in allowing Geordie to present over 300 shows per season to over 80,000 audience members both young and young-at-heart.

The monies raised through Geordie's annual fundraising production plays a vital role in bringing high-quality, professional, English-language theatre to youth across the province. In a time of dwindling resources for culture, every ticket sold for the fundraiser contributes directly to keeping Geordie in the financially precarious business of bringing the magic of live theatre to kids. Your support helps keep arts and culture in the hearts and minds of thousands of children not only in the Montreal area, but in communities large and small, from James Bay to the Magdalen Islands.
