Innovation has taken centre stage on the Montréal theatre scene the last few months, and many local companies are going above and beyond to bring productions to the stage and offer safe new ways to share their love of the arts.
That’s why Geordie Theatre is marking their upcoming 40th anniversary by unveiling Espace Geordie—a creative space located in historic Little Italy and devoted entirely to continuing their work in ways that are safe, accessible, and always exciting.
Working closely with a Health and Safety Officer, Geordie has implemented protocols that allow for safe rehearsal and performance practices—providing artists with a space they can feel comfortable and creative in. It will also be the new home of Geordie’s annual 2Play Tour for schools, with live-streaming equipment set up to provide young audiences at home and away with live performances and plenty of interaction from a safe, virtual platform.
Espace Geordie was officially unveiled on August 19th. This is just the first of many announcements from the theatre company, which plans to mark their milestone 40th season with plenty of exciting theatre and creative innovations. Be sure to catch all the latest news and updates on their website.
